We are so excited to share with you these almond paste stuffed cookies from our youth and childhood dreams. They are a typical dutch treat and so delicious. Crispy from the outside and soft, creamy and nutty from the inside. Although they seem fancy, they are actually easy to make with just a few ingredients. Perfect with a cup of piping hot black tea or coffee.

Perfect to make when you’re expecting guests and don’t have a lot of time to make an elaborate dessert. These scones are perfect as a luxurious weekend breakfast or as snack with a piping hot cuppa. Figs and nuts go so well with the rustic flavour and texture of rye flour. These babies are just a little bit more edgy, rich and saturating than plain classic scones. They are best served warm, slathered with some good quality vegan butter, and maybe a dollop of apricot, orange or fig jam.

These cookies are just too good to be true, but they actually are true! They are buttery and crispy, but will immediately melt in your mouth as soon as you take a bite. But hey, we have to upgrade cookies a bit to make them a bit more cool and badass! A dash of chili powder does the trick, and causes an agreeable slight burn, which actually makes them even more delish. And by the way, they are easy and quick to make, so get your ass over to the kitchen and whip up a batch or two!

There are so many versatile ways to veganise eggs these days. Have you already tried to make meringue out of ‘aquafaba’ aka the liquid in a can of chickpeas? It’s like magic. And a really good exercise to grow those biceps is by whisking the liquid like crazy (although we have to be honest, a hand mixer guaranties the best results). Keep in mind that this is some next level sh*t. Read the recipe carefully and follow all the instructions and ingredients to make sure these bastards turn out perfect.

We have let our minds wander in regards to the new reality we are finding ourselves in and to say it with the words of @zachbushmd (check out his posts!) we 'strongly believe there is too much bandwidth of the collective human consciousness spent on this topic’ so we are not gonna add anything to that besides a few things:

1. @thedutchweedburger just posted an amazing article on their blog that to us says it all

2. we are not quite sure if we will be able to continue our friday posts during the coming period, but will do our best to offer easy and delicious plant based inspiration, maybe through our stories

3. because we see a lot of sadness on social media right now we thought this recipe might cheer you up a bit. Just because a smile can do so much for yourself, your body and the world around you.

Although we are still in the middle of the winter, it feels like spring every other day and that is why we felt a craving for a light and crispy curry stuffed with leafy greens and fresh flavours. If you’ve ever been to country's like Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico you probably know this comfy corn staple food. It’s a cornflour patty (in between bread and pancake) and you can eat it with all kinds of toppings like avocado, vegan cheese and plant meat. We made this avo-carnitas variety which is utterly delicious! You can use our pulled mushroom or pulled jackfruit recipe, both are delicious!
